"They shall not be ashamed who wait for Me." (Isaiah 49:23)

This precious promise guarantees that the person who waits on God in prayer will not be disappointed or put to shame. It assures us that the Lord will answer and bless in His own time and in His own way.

Are you tempted and tried?- wait for the Lord. Are you sick?- wait upon God. He will not let you be ashamed.

Abraham waited for a child, and received the promise when he was very old. Joseph waited in prison, and was promoted to great honour. David waited as a shepherd, and became the king.

"They that wait upon the Lord, shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings as eagles.
They shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
Teach me, Lord. Teach me ,Lord, to wait."

"Oh, keep my soul and deliver me." (Psalm 25:20)

True prayer is to God the Father, in the precious name of Jesus.

As we read the Bible we find many examples of effective prayer. Let us pray as "those who are moved by the Holy Spirit." (2 Peter 1:21)

Today, let us pray: "Lord, keep my soul- from sin, and from Satan. Keep me in Your Way, by Your Word and by Your Spirit. Deliver me from guilt, fear and shame. Let me be clothed in Your righteousness, cleansed by the precious blood of Jesus and led by the Holy Spirit."

"In shadow of Your wings
Hide me in times of strife;
And as the apple of Your eye
Preserve and guard my life." (Psalm 17:8)

December 20

"I will give you the blessings I promised to David." (Acts 13:34)

These blessings are exactly what the sinner needs- for all our physical and spiritual needs for time and eternity.

They are covenant blessings. God, who cannot lie, has promised them in response to the sufferings and death of the Lord Jesus; and the Holy Spirit enables us to receive them.

They are promised to us in the Bible, and freely given out of the fullness of Jesus.

These mercies are given unconditionally to all who come with simple faith.

The invitation is "Come and receive freely."

"The soul that in Jesus has found its repose,
He will not, He cannot desert to its foes;
That soul, though all hell shall endeavour to shake,
He'll never, no never, no never forsake."

"If you love Me, keep My commandments." (John 14:15)

Jesus commands us because He loves us. He desires the best for us. Our obedience proves the sincerity of our faith.

Jesus commands us to imitate Himself. He commands us to believe Him, profess Him, obey Him, and to continue in His love.

Love is the strongest incentive to obedience, it conquers fear, gives zeal and overcomes difficulties.

Jesus summarised the 10 commandments (Exodus Ch.20) in Matthew 22:37-39:

"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind." ----and "You shall love your neighbour as yourself."

So loved He the world that He gave us His Son."

"They are the enemies of the cross of Christ" (Phillipians 3:18)

The Christian glories in the cross of Christ. The cross is central to our salvation; this is the foundation of our faith and the place where the Lord displays all the perfection of His character. It is the key to heaven.

Let us so live that we never bring dishonour on the Lord who died on the cross that we might live for evermore.

"As for me, may I never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus. Because of that cross, my interest in this world has been crucified, and the world's interest in me has also died." (Galatians 6:14)

"Be still my soul; the Lord is on your side;
Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain;
Leave to your God to order and provide;
In every change He faithful will remain.

"Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives." (Colossians 3:16)

Believer, the Bible is the Word of your best Friend, loving Saviour, and final Judge. Let it rule and feed your soul.

As a result, you will know how to pray; you will make wise judgements; your desires will be pleasing to God; your conscience will be pure; you will be able to resist and overcome Satan; and you will be able to encourage others.

Day by day, take your direction from God's Word. "Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom." (Colossians 3:16)

"Your Word's a lamp that shines before my feet;
It is a light that guides me on my way.
The oath that I have taken I've confirmed
That all Your righteous laws I will obey." (Psalm 119:105-106)

"God said, 'What do you want? Ask, and I shall give it to you!' " (1 Kings 3:5)

God has boundless resources, and is constantly calling upon us ask and receive.

What do you want today? Is it more holiness? We want our understanding enlightened, our will brought into conformity to the will of God, and our affections fixed on heavenly things.

Let us ask as Solomon did for wisdom to guide our hearts and direct our ways. It will lead us to do God's will and enable us to escape the traps of the devil.

Jesus asks us "What shall I give you?" In Him are all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge, and everyone that asks receives.

"O Jesus, give me Yourself."

Spirit of God, my teacher be,

"He is the Saviour of His body, the church." (Ephesians 5:23)

The church is the body of Christ Jesus and His people are one. They are His chosen ones. They are His delight and glory; in whom He rejoices.

He saves them by substitution- He took their place and died for their sins.

He saves them by giving the Holy Spirit and grace with every spiritual blessing.

He saves them by instruction; for they are all taught by God.

He saves them by separation, bringing them out of, and delivering them from this present evil world.

He saves them by taking them out of the kingdom of Satan and into His kingdom of grace; and finally out of this present world and into heaven.

All who are saved display His glory and love and are part of His body, the church. Salvation is all of God! Hallelujah!

All His ransomed home to bring,
Then anew this song we'll sing,
Hallelujah! What a Saviour!"

"Why are you bringing a charge against Him?" (Job 33:13)

A believer bringing a charge against God? Yes, it may happen, but it shouldn't!

Remember God is infinitely wise. His love is unchangeable. His ways are right. His methods may be mysterious and perplexing to us. He will not be called to account by the proud. His purposes are always good and gracious. He is our Loving Heavenly Father and it is our privilege to believe and trust in every situation. One day He will make all clear to us, and then we shall know and be perfectly satisfied.

He says, "Be still, and know that I am God." (Psalm 46:10)

"When through the deep waters He calls you to go,
You will not be drowned in the rivers of woe;
For He will be with you in trouble, to bless
And work for your good in your deepest distress.
The soul that in Jesus has found its repose,
He will not, He cannot, desert to its foes:

พระเยซูอธิษฐานขอให้เราเป็นหนึ่งเดียวกันกับพระองค์เอง เป็นหนึ่งเดียวกันกับคริสตจักรของพระองค์ เป็นส่วนของกายเดียวกัน ลูกในครอบครัวเดียวกัน และทายาทผู้รับมรดกร่วมกัน

พระองค์อธิษฐานขอให้เราเป็นหนึ่งเดียวกัน ดังเช่นที่พระองค์เป็นหนึ่งเดียวกันกับพระบิดา ให้เรามีความรักแท้เดียวกันที่ส่งผลกระทบต่อชีวิตเรา และมีจุดมุ่งหมายเดียวกันที่จะถวายเกียรติแด่พระเจ้า

December 10

"I am praying not only for these disciples, but also for all those who will ever believe in Me--." (John 17:20)

Jesus prayed that we would be one with Himself; one with His church; as members of the same body; children of the same family and heirs of the same inheritance.

He prayed that we may be one even as He is one with the Father; that we may have the same love influencing us; the same aim to glorify God.

What glorious privileges our Saviour here prays that we may enjoy. Think of being of one mind with our gracious Lord!

Hasten on the time when this prayer will be fully answered. Let us daily pray for this blessing- nothing can be greater, sweeter or more important.

He had no tears for His own griefs,
But sweat drops of blood for mine

ความหลุดพ้นของพระเจ้า คือการช่วยให้รอดพ้นจากสถานการณ์ที่เลวร้ายที่สุด นั่นคือนรก ไปสู่เกียรติสิริแห่งสวรรค์ และเราได้ทั้งหมดนี้เปล่าๆ โดยพระคุณของพระองค์

พระองค์ช่วยทั้งคนจนและขัดสน คนที่รู้สึกผิดและคนที่ทุกข์ใจ ผู้ซึ่งร้องเรียกหาพระองค์และเชื่อวางใจในพระองค์ เราทั้งหลายผู้ซึ่งได้มีประสบการณ์กับพระเมตตาของพระองค์ควรชื่นชมยินดีร่วมกับนางฮันนาห์ในความหลุดพ้นที่เราได้รับ

"I rejoice in Your salvation." (1 Samuel 2:1)

God's salvation is deliverance from the most awful situation – hell - to the glories of heaven, and all by His free grace.

He saves the poor and needy, the guilty and distressed, who call upon Him and believe in Him. We, who have experienced His mercy, should along with Hannah, rejoice in our salvation.

Some rejoice in property, power, and earthly prospects; let us rejoice in our salvation- in sickness and health, in poverty and plenty, in life and in death.

"Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vines; even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty; yet I will rejoice in the Lord! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation!" (Habakkuk 3:17-18)

"Do not throw away your confident trust in the Lord." (Hebrews 10:35)

All true believers are confident that Jesus Christ is the promised Messiah sent by God; that He is the only Saviour and Eternal God; that heaven is being prepared for all who believe. Our trust is in God's Word and we find courage and boldness to share the truth.

As we read the Bible the Holy Spirit teaches us to commit all to God, to part with all that hinders our progress and to rest fully on the truth of the Lord Jesus.

Our faith will be tested and tried- but we must stand firm for, if we hold fast to the end, we are made partakers of Christ's glory. There is great reward in this life, and in the world to come Everlasting Life.

My Master and my Friend:

"พระองค์ได้ทรงช่วยโลทผู้ชอบธรรม" (2 เปโตร 2:7 TNCV)

โลทเป็นผู้เชื่อแท้ในพระเจ้า แต่เป็นผู้เชื่อที่อ่อนแอ เขาเลือกที่จะอาศัยอยู่ในเมืองโสดมที่มั่งคั่งแต่เต็มด้วยบาป เขาตั้งเป้าที่จะมีอนาคตที่ดี! การเต็มไปด้วยบาปของเพื่อนบ้านของเขาทำให้เขาผิดหวัง

ผลของการเลือกที่ผิดพลาดก็คือ ครอบครัวของเขาต้องพลาดพระพรของพระเจ้า คนในครอบครัวยกเว้นลูกสาว 2 คนของเขาพินาศในเมืองโสดม ภรรยาของเขาเสียชีวิตขณะที่หนีออกจากเมืองโสดม

โลทหลบหนีโดยปราศจากซึ่งความสำคัญ และต้องอาศัยในถ้ำ พระเจ้าได้ตีสอนเขาในความรักแท้ของพระองค์

"God--delivered righteous Lot." (2 Peter 2:7)

Lot was a true believer in God; but a weak one. He chose to live in wealthy –but sinful-Sodom. He aimed at making a fortune! He was upset by the sinfulness of his neighbours.

As a result of his wrong choices his family missed out on God's blessing. All, but two daughters, perished in Sodom. His wife died as they fled from Sodom.

Lot escaped without anything of importance and had to live in a cave. God, in His love, disciplined him.

"O Lord, reveal to me Your ways,
And all Your paths help me to know.
Direct and guide me in Your truth;
Instruct me in the way to go." (Sing Psalms 25:4-5)

นี่คือคำอธิษฐานของคริสเตียนทุกคน ขอที่เราอธิษฐานเช้าวันนี้ "ขอชำระข้าพระองค์ด้วยพระคำของพระองค์ ด้วยพระโลหิตของพระเยซู และด้วยฤทธิ์อำนาจของพระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์"

"Create in me a clean heart, O Lord." (Psalm 51:10)

This is the prayer of every Christian. Let us pray this morning, "Cleanse me by Your word, by the blood of Jesus, and the power of the Holy Spirit."

Purity of heart can only be produced by God. A true Christian hates sin. We are called to live holy lives. We are the temple of the Holy Spirit.

God says, "Be holy, for I am holy;" (1 Peter 1:16) and we pray, "Create in me a clean heart, O Lord." (Psalm 51:10)

Let us be holy in all our conversation, looking for the coming of the Lord Jesus.

And make me all Your own.

"I will go in the strength of the Lord God." (Psalm 71:16)

We don't have to go in weakness because God's strength is offered to us.

In His light we see, and in His strength we work. It is promised to us, and if we ask for it we will receive it.

Let us never attempt anything in our own strength. If we do we shall surely fail. But let us pray for God's strength, and then we are sure of success and victory.

"His strength is made perfect in weakness." (2 Corinthians 12:9)

He gives courage to the faint, to those who have no might He gives strength.

"We go in faith, our own great weakness feeling,
And needing more each day Thy grace to know,

"Believe in the Lord your God." (2 Chronicles 20:20)

God is gracious to all who believe in the Lord Jesus. He is ever present with us, ready to help us and take pleasure in us. He is our all sufficient covenant keeping God.

Believe in His Word, which is true and faithful; in His presence, for He will never leave us; in His power for nothing is too hard for Him; in His character, which will never be dishonoured; and in His faithfulness, which, like the great mountains, is steadfast and sure.

Believe in God, even though people turn against us; though Satan distresses us; though fears arise within us. Believe in God for strength to do our duty, and for deliverance from every difficulty. Faith is a gift from God which He is ready to give.

If Jesus were to return today would He find faith in our hearts?

December 01

"The Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns." (Revelation 19:6)

Our God is the source of all good, and the only One worthy of our worship.

He can do all things. He rules with mercy, justice and glory. Everything that happens is either appointed or permitted by Him. All things ultimately bring honour to His name.

Let us live each day aiming to please God in all things, trust in Him, pray to Him and prove His promises. This will help us to conquer fear, strengthen faith and obedience, and prevent sin.

The Lord our God reigns. He cares for His children, manages their affairs and secures their best interests! Praise to His Holy name!
