"What kind of people should you be?" (2 Peter 3:11)
Those who say that they believe in Jesus, and have the Holy Spirit in them, ought to be different from others. We believe that this present world will pass away. We expect a new heaven and new earth where there will be no sin.
We are strangers in this world and should live as such, concentrating on eternal things. We ought to be watchful, prayerful, thankful, holy and patient. We ought to be content with what we have aiming to be like Jesus; to live as Paul lived, dying daily to self.
Do we really believe that this present world will be dissolved? If so, are we living accordingly? Are we laying up treasure in heaven? Are we rich in good works? Are we ready for the coming of Jesus?
"Take time to be holy, the world rushes on;
Spend much time in secret with Jesus alone-
By looking to Jesus, like Him you shall be;
Your friends in your conduct His likeness shall see."

บรรดาคนที่บอกว่าเป็นผู้เชื่อในพระเยซูและมีพระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์ในชีวิตของเขาควรที่จะแตกต่างจากคนทั่วไป เราเชื่อว่าโลกปัจจุบันนี้จะล่วงไป เราคาดหวังสวรรค์ใหม่และโลกใหม่ที่ซึ่งจะไม่มีบาปอีกต่อไป
เราเป็นคนแปลกถิ่นในโลกนี้และควรดำรงชีวิตเช่นนั้นด้วยการจดจ่อกับสิ่งที่เป็นนิรันดร์ เราควรตั้งตารอคอย หมั่นอธิษฐาน มีใจขอบพระคุณ มีชีวิตที่บริสุทธิ์ และอดทน เราควรพอใจในสิ่งที่มีอยู่ด้วยการตั้งเป้าหมายที่จะเป็นเหมือนพระเยซู ดำรงชีวิตดั่งเช่นอาจารย์เปาโล คือตายต่อตัวเองทุกๆ วัน
เราเชื่อจริงๆ หรือไม่ว่าโลกปัจจุบันนี้จะเสื่อมสลายไป? ถ้าเชื่อเช่นนั้น เราดำรงชีวิตตามที่เราเชื่อหรือไม่? เรากำลังสะสมสมบัติในสวรรค์หรือไม่? เรามั่งมีในการดีทั้งปวงหรือไม่? เราพร้อมสำหรับการกลับมาของพระเยซูหรือไม่?

จงใช้เวลาในที่ลับ อยู่กับพระเยซูเป็นการส่วนตัว
