II. Paul Prays: Know God's Will
"For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding" (Colossians 1:9 NKJV)
Paul continued to pray for these people. Becoming a believer is just the beginning step. Paul would like them to have more. He did not satisfy that.
Christ wants you to fruit-bearers.
Paul requested God to fill them with the knowledge of God's will, all wisdom, and spiritual understanding.
Knowledge of God is really the fact about who God is. It is the answer of the question "what?". What is God's will for our lives? What does He desire us to do? God is spiritual. The Word or Scripture is also spiritual. Sometimes the Word may not make sense for us. The Holy Spirit is the one that in part of the understanding.
Wisdom is biblical and theological truth. It is the answer to the question "why?". Wisdom and knowledge cannot be separated. It's better to link them together. Solomon usually talked about both elements and in most times he linked all these 2 together to be effective. We need to have them both.
Understanding is application to the truth. "Understand" means "unite". Unite the truth and fact, and then apply them. This is the question "How?". This is the question for us.
All these three are the foundation of your life. Just like root of the tree.
PRINCIPLE II:

It is possible to know God's Will. To know God's will is to know God.
How deep is your root in your life? The thing you have to do to deepen your root is studying the Bible. Ask God to fill you with wisdom and understanding. Then you would be able to understand and apply.
II. เปาโลอธิษฐาน: รู้น้ำพระทัยพระเจ้า
เพราะเหตุนี้ นับตั้งแต่วันที่เราได้ยินเรื่องนี้ เราก็ไม่ได้หยุดอธิษฐานและทูลขอเพื่อท่านทั้งหลาย เพื่อให้ท่านเต็มเปี่ยมด้วยความรู้เรื่องพระประสงค์ของพระองค์โดยสรรพปัญญาและความเข้าใจฝ่ายจิตวิญญาณ (โคโลสี 1:9 THSV2011)
อาจารย์เปาโลอธิษฐานเผื่อผู้คนเหล่านี้ตลอด การที่มาเป็นผู้เชื่อนั้น เป็นเพียงแค่ขั้นเริ่มต้น อาจารย์เปาโลอยากให้พวกเขาเติบโตมากกว่านั้น ท่านไม่พอใจเพียงแค่พวกเขาได้มาเชื่อ
พระคริสต์ต้องการให้คุณเป็นผู้ที่เกิดผล
อาจารย์เปาโลได้ทูลขอพระเจ้าที่พระองค์จะทรงให้พวกเขาเต็มเปี่ยมด้วยความรู้เรื่องพระประสงค์ของพระเจ้า สรรพปัญญา และความเข้าใจฝ่ายวิญญาณ
ความรู้ ความรู้เรื่องพระเจ้า เป็นความจริงว่าพระองค์ทรงเป็นผู้ใด นี่เป็นคำตอบของคำถามว่า "อะไร" อะไรคือพระประสงค์ของพระเจ้าสำหรับชีวิตของเรา? อะไรคือสิ่งที่พระองค์ทรงต้องการให้เราทำ? พระเจ้าทรงเป็นพระวิญญาณ พระวจนะของพระองค์ก็เป็นฝ่ายวิญญาณ บางครั้งเราอาจไม่เข้าใจพระคำของพระองค์ แต่พระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์จะเป็นผู้ที่ช่วยให้เราเข้าใจ
สติปัญญา เป็นความจริงทางพระคัมภีร์และทางศาสนศาสตร์ เป็นคำตอบของคำถามว่า "ทำไม" สติปัญญาและความรู้ไม่สามารถแยกจากกันได้ และคงจะเป็นการดีหากจะเชื่อมทั้งสองอย่างเข้าด้วยกัน กษัตริย์ซาโลมอนมักจะกล่าวถึงทั้งสององค์ประกอบ และส่วนใหญ่ที่กล่าวถึง ท่านก็จะเชื่อมโยงทั้งสองเข้าด้วยกันที่จะทำให้ได้ผลดี เราต้องการทั้งสองสิ่งนี้
