Storing Up Treasure on Earth (3)
Material possessions, told in the scriptures, will always let us down. They will either fade away or break down. Clothes will wear out, cars will rust, CD players will collapse, and computers will crash. Or we will die and depart from them like the fool. Earthly possessions will not satisfy us and will impoverish us in the sight of God.
What is the secret for not being covetous? It is to be satisfied with what you have.
6 Now there is great gain in godliness with contentment,
7 for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world.
8 But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content.
9 But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.
10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs. (1 Timothy 6:6-10 ESV)
Godliness with contentment is great gain. Be on your guard against covetousness.

ทรัพย์สิ่งของได้ถูกกล่าวหลายครั้งในพระคัมภีร์ ว่าจะทำให้เราตกต่ำลง สิ่งเหล่านั้นจะเสื่อมสลายไปในที่สุด เสื้อผ่าจะเก่าลง รถยนต์จะขึ้นสนิม เครื่องเล่นซีดีก็จะพัง และคอมพิวเตอร์ก็จะเสียหาย หรือเราอาจจะตายจากสิ่งเหล่านี้ไป เช่นเดียวกับเศรษฐีผู้โง่เขลาคนนี้ ทรัพย์สมบัติทางโลก ไม่ทำให้เราพึงพอใจ และจะทำให้เรายากจนลงในสายพระเนตรของพระเจ้า
อะไรคือเคล็ดลับในการหลีกเลี่ยงความโลภ? นั่นคือการพึงพอใจในสิ่งที่คุณมี
6 ความเคารพรักพระเจ้านำผลกำไรมหาศาลมาให้เฉพาะแก่ผู้ที่พอใจในสิ่งที่ตนมีเท่านั้น
7 เราไม่ได้นำสิ่งใดติดตัวเข้ามาในโลก และเราก็นำอะไรออกไปได้
8 ตราบใดที่มีอาหารและเครื่องนุ่งห่ม เราก็พอใจแล้ว
9 คนที่อยากรวยก็ตกเป็นเหยื่อของการทดลอง ติดกับดักและตกลงไปในตัณหาชั่วร้ายโง่เขลามากมาย ซึ่งทำให้มนุษย์จมลงสู่ความพินาศย่อยยับ
10 ความรักเงินตราเป็นรากเหง้าของความชั่วร้ายทุกประการ"บางคนเมื่อแสวงหาแต่เงินก็พลัดหลงจากความเชื่อ เป็นเหตุให้ตนเองได้รับความทุกข์เป็นอันมาก (1 ทิโมธี 6:6-10 THSV2011)
ความเคารพรักพระเจ้าด้วยความพอใจ นำผลกำไรมหาศาลมาให้แก่เรา
จงระวังให้ดี และหลีกเลี่ยงจากความโลภทุกอย่าง
