Daily Devotional, January 12

"I am filled with sorrow." (Psalm 38:6)

Why? Is it because many do not listen to God’s Word? Or because of your lack of progress in the Christian Way? Or because these days you are less aware of the comfort and peace of Jesus? Or because of the deceitfulness of your own heart?
Don’t spend too much time on your faults and failings. Remember the precious blood of Jesus poured out for your salvation. Read and believe the promises in the Bible, confess all to the Lord.
He cannot be unkind. He never will forsake you. He has sent the Holy Spirit to comfort and encourage you.

"Troubles and trials are sent to us all,
But our Lord is beside us and won’t let us fall;
He’ll carry us through, and give us more grace,
As we look in His Word, and gaze on His face."
