"Evil is present with me." (Romans 7:21)
What a mercy that evil doesn’t reign over you. It did once; but thanks to God’s free grace sin no longer reigns over the believer.
If sin leads you to prayer, then it does not reign in you. It may disturb your peace, cause you sadness, hinder your good works, and cause you to cry out, "O wretched man that I am, who shall deliver Me?" (Romans 7:24) But even then- Jesus still loves you, and you shall be more than conqueror.
Paul had known the Lord many years, and daily triumphed in Christ; yet he felt just as you feel, when he wanted to do good, evil was present with him.
If sin causes you sadness, holiness lives in you. You may even now sing, "Thanks be to God who gives us the victory, through our Lord Jesus Christ." (Romans 7:25)

"ความชั่วก็อยู่กับข้าพเจ้า" (โรม 7:21)
ช่างเป็นพระกรุณาที่ความชั่วไม่มีอำนาจเหนือคุณอีกต่อไป ครั้งหนึ่งมันเคยมีอำนาจเหนือคุณ แต่ขอบพระคุณพระเจ้าที่ได้ประทานพระคุณแบบไม่คิดมูลค่า บาปไม่มีอำนาจเหนือผู้เชื่ออีกต่อไป
หากบาปนำให้คุณอธิษฐานต่อพระเจ้า เมื่อนั้นมันก็ไม่ได้มีอำนาจในตัวคุณ มันอาจจะรบกวนสันติสุขของคุณ ทำให้คุณเศร้า ขัดขวางไม่ให้คุณทำสิ่งที่ดี และทำให้คุณร้องออกมาว่า "ข้าพเจ้าเป็นคนน่าสังเวชอะไรเช่นนี้! ใครจะช่วยข้าพเจ้าให้พ้นจากกายแห่งความตายนี้ได้?" (โรม 7:24 TNCV) แต่แม้เมื่อเวลานั้น พระเยซูก็ยังคงรักคุณ และคุณก็จะเป็นยิ่งกว่าผู้พิชิต
เปาโลรู้จักพระเจ้ามาหลายปี และมีชัยชนะในพระคริสต์ในทุกๆ วัน แม้กระนั้นก็ตาม ท่านยังรู้สึกเช่นเดียวกับที่คุณเป็น เมื่อท่านต้องการทำสิ่งที่ดี ความชั่วก็อยู่กับตัวท่าน
หากบาปทำให้คุณรู้สึกเสียใจ ความบริสุทธิ์ก็อยู่ในตัวคุณ คุณอาจจะร้องสรรเสริญในตอนนี้ว่า "ขอบพระคุณพระเจ้า ข้าพเจ้าพ้นได้โดยทางพระเยซูคริสต์องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าของเรา!" (โรม 7:25 TNCV)
