III. A WARNING for Believers
"16 So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths,
17 which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ.
18 Let no one cheat you of your reward, taking delight in false humility and worship of angels, intruding into those things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
19 and not holding fast to the Head, from whom all the body, nourished and knit together by joints and ligaments, grows with the increase that is from God.
20 Therefore, if you died with Christ from the basic principles of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to regulations ---
21 "Do not touch, do not taste, do not handle,"
22 which all concern things which perish with the using --- according to the commandments and doctrines of men?
23 These things indeed have an appearance of wisdom in self-imposed religion, false humility, and neglect of the body, but are of no value against the indulgence of the flesh." (Colossians 2:16-23 NKJV)
There are many religious systems. Some of them are mentioned here.
1. Legalism
This system teach the believers to strictly follow legal requirements and religious rituals.
But the bible says that all legal requirements and religious rituals are just a shadow of things to come. Those things have already become the reality, which is Jesus Christ. All things were pointing to Christ. Don't follow things in the past.
"For the law, having a shadow of the good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with these same sacrifices, which they offer continually year by year, make those who approach perfect." (Hebrews 10:1 NKJV)
False teachers taught that believers had to keep things in the past. They followed the law with hypocrisy. They did not follow the law by heart.
2. Mysticism
This system teach the believers to try to attain a "supernatural" experience or higher "spiritual" state through human effort.
The result would be false humility. They tried to attain supranatural experiences. They tried to elevate themselves that they have in a higher state of righteousness or spiritualness than others. They would become puffed up. They wanted to be more important.
If we do like this, we will lose the connection with the Head. We would be self-seeking rather than seeking him.
3. Asceticism
This is the practice of severe "self-denial".
The believers tried to practice denial of money or of possession. They isolated themselves or cut themselves or beat themselves. They tried to be more spiritual by doing these. They tried to be good and more righteous to please God.
But God came down to reach us. We will never be able to do anything to please Him.
These religious systems are self-righteousness. They are the rules made by man. They would focus on busy work, not on following Him; shadow form of "how to" rather than substance form of Christ; and activity rather than intimate relationship with Christ.
PRINCIPLE III:

A Religious System that Focuses Anywhere but Jesus Christ is a False One.
Don't add something on Jesus Christ.
Where does our focus lie? Focus on Jesus Christ who is supreme over all, who is sufficient to save, and who is the fullness of God.
III. คำเตือนสำหรับผู้เชื่อทั้งหลาย
16 เพราะฉะนั้นอย่าให้ใครพิพากษาท่านทั้งหลายในเรื่องการกิน การดื่ม ในเรื่องเทศกาล หรือวันต้นเดือน หรือวันสะบาโต
17 สิ่งเหล่านี้เป็นเพียงเงาของสิ่งที่มาในภายหลัง แต่ตัวจริงคือพระคริสต์
18 อย่าให้ใครตัดสิทธิ์พวกท่านด้วยการทำทีถ่อมใจและด้วยการนมัสการพวกทูตสวรรค์ พวกเขาใฝ่ฝันอยู่ในนิมิต หยิ่งผยองอย่างไม่มีเหตุตามความคิดฝ่ายเนื้อหนังของเขา
19 และไม่ได้ยึดมั่นในพระคริสต์ ผู้ทรงเป็นศีรษะ ซึ่งเป็นเหตุให้ทั่วทั้งร่างกายได้รับการบำรุงเลี้ยง และประสานเข้าด้วยกันโดยข้อและเอ็นต่างๆ จึงได้เจริญขึ้นตามที่พระเจ้าทรงให้เจริญขึ้นนั้น
20 ถ้าท่านทั้งหลายตายกับพระคริสต์พ้นจากพวกภูตผีที่ครอบงำของจักรวาลแล้ว ทำไมท่านจึงมีชีวิตเหมือนกับว่าพวกท่านยังอยู่ฝ่ายโลก? ทำไมท่านยอมอยู่ใต้กฎต่างๆ
21 เช่น "อย่าหยิบ" "อย่าชิม" "อย่าแตะต้อง"
22 สิ่งทั้งหมดนี้เป็นสิ่งที่จะพินาศเมื่อใช้มัน และเป็นเพียงกฎเกณฑ์และคำสอนของมนุษย์
23 จริงอยู่สิ่งเหล่านี้ดูเหมือนมีปัญญา คือการนมัสการด้วยความสมัครใจ การทำทีถ่อมใจ และการทรมานกาย แต่ไม่มีประโยชน์อะไรในการต่อสู้กับความใคร่ของเนื้อหนัง (โคโลสี 2:16-23 THSV2011)
มีระบบของศาสนามากมาย และบางระบบก็ได้ถูกกล่าวถึงในที่นี้
1. นิตินิยม (Legalism)
ระบบนี้ สอนให้ผู้เชื่อปฏิบัติตามข้อกำหนดของศาสนาและพิธีกรรมทางศาสนาอย่างเคร่งครัด
แต่พระคัมภีร์กล่าวว่า ข้อกำหนดของศาสนาและพิธีกรรมทางศาสนานั้นเป็นเพียงเงาของสิ่งที่จะตามมา และสิ่งเหล่านั้นก็ได้เป็นจริงแล้ว นั่นคือ พระเยซูคริสต์ ทุกสิ่งได้ชี้ไปยังพระคริสต์ จงอย่าติดตามสิ่งที่เป็นอดีต
เพราะเหตุที่ธรรมบัญญัติเป็นเพียงเงาของสิ่งประเสริฐทั้งหลายที่จะมาในภายหลัง ไม่ใช่ตัวจริง จึงไม่สามารถทำให้ผู้ที่เข้าเฝ้าพระเจ้าพร้อมกับเครื่องบูชาที่พวกเขาถวายเหมือนเดิมทุกปีเสมอมานั้น ถึงความสมบูรณ์ได้ (ฮีบรู 10:1 THSV2011)
ผู้สอนเท็จ สอนว่าผู้เชื่อจำเป็นต้องปฏิบัติตามสิ่งที่เป็นอดีต พวกเขาทำตามธรรมบัญญัติด้วยความหน้าซื่อใจคด พวกเขาไม่ได้ปฏิบัติตามธรรมบัญญัติด้วยใจ
2. ฌานนิยม (Mysticism)
ระบบนี้สอนให้ผู้เชื่อพยายามที่จะมีประสบการณ์เหนือธรรมชาติ หรือพยายามที่จะอยู่ในภาวะฝ่ายวิญญาณที่สูงส่ง ผ่านทางความพยายามของมนุษย์
ผลที่ได้ก็จะเป็นความถ่อมใจเทียม พวกเขาพยายามที่จะได้รับประสบการณ์พิเศษเหนือธรรมชาติ พวกเขาพยายามยกตัวเองว่าพวกเขามีความชอบธรรมและมีความเป็นฝ่ายวิญญาณมากกว่าผู้อื่น พวกเขาจะผยองขึ้น พวกเขาต้องการที่จะเป็นผู้ที่มีความสำคัญมากขึ้น
หากเราทำเช่นนี้ เราก็จะสูญเสียการเชื่อมต่อกับศีรษะ เราจะแสวงหาตนเองมากกว่าแสวงหาพระองค์
3. พรตนิยม (Asceticism)
นี่เป็นการฝึกฝนการปฏิเสธตัวเองอย่างเข้มงวด
ผู้เชื่อจะพยายามฝึกฝนที่จะปฏิเสธเงินหรือสิ่งของ พวกเขาจะแยกตัวสันโดษ หรือกรีดตัวเอง หรือทุบตีตนเอง พวกเขาพยายามที่จะอยู่ฝ่ายวิญญาณมากขึ้นด้วยการกระทำเช่นนี้ พวกเขาพยายามที่จะเป็นคนดีและชอบธรรมมากยิ่งขึ้นเพื่อทำให้พระเจ้าพอพระทัย
แต่พระเจ้าได้ทรงเสด็จลงมาหาพวกเรา เราจะไม่สามารถทำสิ่งใดเพื่อที่จะทำให้พระองค์พอพระทัยได้เลย
ระบบศาสนาเหล่านี้ล้วนเป็นการหาความชอบธรรมด้วยตัวเอง เป็นกฎเกณฑ์ที่ถูกสร้างโดยมนุษย์ พวกเขาจะเพ่งความสนใจไปที่การกระทำที่ยุ่งยาก ไม่ได้เน้นที่การติดตามพระองค์ เพ่งความสนใจไปที่เงาของ "ทำอย่างไร" แทนที่จะเป็นแก่นแห่งพระคริสต์ และเพ่งความสนใจไปที่กิจกรรมต่าง ๆ แทนที่จะเป็นความสัมพันธ์สนิทกับพระคริสต์

ระบบของศาสนาที่เพ่งความสนใจไปที่อื่นใดนอกจากพระเยซูคริสต์ เป็นระบบเท็จ
อย่าเพิ่มเติมสิ่งใดไปบนพระเยซูคริสต์
จุดสนใจของชีวิตของคุณอยู่ที่ใด? จงเพ่งความสนใจไปที่พระเยซูคริสต์ ผู้ที่ทรงสิทธิอำนาจสูงสุดเหนือทุกสิ่ง ผู้ซึ่งเพียงพอในการช่วยให้รอด และผู้ที่ครบบริบูรณ์ซึ่งความเป็นพระเจ้า
